that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you... (John 17:21)
I in them and you in me--so that they may be brought to complete unity...(John 17:23)

Seeking brotherly unity and living it out is a duty that we all have – can we avoid doing everything possible with God’s help to pull down the walls of division and mistrust, which hinder the preaching of the Gospel of Salvation? 1

This work is not easy, because of the long lasting, inheritance from past misunderstandings, which cause the deplorable divisions between believers, demand love and courage arising out of the truth, and also the will to forgive and be reconciled.2

We would like - as the Encyclical recommends – to take up this subject with repentant hearts and prayer, through listening to the Holy Spirit, who teaches us to know the signs of times clearly. 3

Divisions and separation have been present in Church history, that is true, but can the believers today turn out to be those approved (1Cor. 11:19) and willing to take another step towards reconciliation? Not only for their own sake, but for the Church to reveal the glory of Jesus, so that the world would know Him and believe that Jesus is the Messiah sent by the Father (John 17:22-23) and to move His chosen people to jealousy (Rom. 11:14) and turn their hearts to the way of salvation in the blessed HaMashiach.
